Original letter to magazine designers
Dear Designer,
Thank you for expressing an interest in helping me in my design of a new magazine. I am writing this to you to take this to the next step.
I think my magazine is unique and I want to protect its concept so if you agree to not disclose anything about my marketing plan or idea to anyone else, I will forward to you a link where you can download a pdf giving you a great deal of background in what I am doing as well as ideas, examples, and requirements. Your reply to this email means that you accept that agreement.
Beyond that, please remember that:
- I need to see samples of what you can do for printed magazine design (not web design)
- You must be able to work in Indesign (I use a mac but I’m not sure that matter) and provide me the completed files to use
- I am hoping for a finished template by mid-November if possible
If this all works for you, simply respond to this email and I will send you to the URL of the pd that explains the concepts of everything I need.
From there, I am hoping you can provide me a rate or a quote on how much it would cost and give me some ideas. From that, I will choose a designer by the end of the first week in November.
Of course, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Again, thank you for the interest. I am excited about this project and I am looking for someone else to share that enthusiasm with me.
