A Powerful Emotional Ad Campaign

My wife, although not a marketer, has become pretty savvy in understanding the concepts of appealing to the emotions. Marketing Rule: people don’t buy what they need, they buy what they want. (They back it with emotion.)

She reminded me of this ad from Salvation Army. Notice how strongly the images are. Would it have been as effective if all they did was give you a bunch of facts? I don’t think so.
